Registration Forms: Email Sent June 5, 2010

The excitement continues to build for the start of Operation Safeguard. We are delighted to share two exciting details that have just been declassified. First, Joe Wainscott, the Executive Director for Indiana Department of Homeland Security will be the graduation Keynote Speaker. Also, the solar-powered cooking devices have arrived and if the sun cooperates, we will use them to make a tasty snack one day.

Please read the following information carefully:

A. REGISTRATION FORMS: Please complete all attached forms before your early arrival on Monday, June 14. Remember that registration starts at 7:30 a.m., so there is no need to reserve early supervision for Monday. The academy will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. and you don't want to miss a minute of it!

B. LUNCH: Arrangements have been very generously provided for by Park Tudor, the host of
Operation Safeguard.

C. CELL PHONES: A service called GeoChat will be used at Operation Safeguard to simulate one of the few possible forms of communication when the infrastructure (i.e. phone lines) go down in a disaster. You are encouraged to email the student’s name and cell phone number to OperationSafeguard@gmail.com by Wednesday, June 9, so that you can participate in this cutting edge technology.

* Parents please note that this service does not add additional fees beyond your normal phone plan’s local call and text messaging. Participation is optional.

D. MAP: A map of the Park Tudor campus has been attached which highlights important points like: the academy entrance, drop-off point, registration area, and parking

E. CLOTHING: Feel free to wear comfortable, everyday clothes. However, please wear closed-toed shoes, as some of the academy activities are physical.

F. RESERVATIONS FOR PICK-UP/DROP-OFF DUE BY MONDAY, JUNE 7: Supervised activities are available for a charge of $5 for each morning and each afternoon that you need the service. Early arrival is 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday-Friday and late pickup is 5:30 p.m. on Monday-Thursday. If you need this service, make your reservation by sending us an email to the address below. Since registration begins at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, June 14 and graduation lasts until 5:30 p.m. on Friday, there is no need to reserve these times.
